Derrick Chapman
Co–Founder
Derrick Chapman is the President and Managing Partner of Aqua Crop, LLC, a company dedicated to implementing environmentally friendly and sustainable farming practices. In addition to my role at Aqua Crop, I am actively involved with the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition and have successfully secured a food procurement and distribution contract with Solid Grounds through the LFPA. As a managing member of Aqua Crop, I am currently enrolled in the mobile Market 101 Course, further expanding my knowledge in the field. Currently, I am leading a fundraising campaign to launch the Go-Go Grocery initiative in collaboration with the Greater Watts Community Garden, Willowbrook Inclusion Network, and South Los Angeles YouthBuild program, aiming to make a positive impact on the community.
Derrick Chapman, co-founder of DC Power Plants, is a seasoned leader in the renewable energy sector. With a Community Solar Developer certification from the Department of Energy, Derrick brings extensive expertise to the table. He serves as a Board member for Key Tech Labs and previously held the position of Executive Director at C.A.C.T.U.S., where he successfully trained over 700 professionals for sustainable energy roles. Derrick's 12-year service with the San Jose Fire Department, including his role as Fire Captain and founder of the SJ Fire Explorer Program, has sharpened his exceptional leadership capabilities. His dedication to advocating for renewable energy solutions and community development has earned him honors such as "Firefighter of The Year" and significant roles on community boards.
Derek Byrd
Co-Founder
Mr. Byrd has a bachelor’s degree in biology with a concentration in aquaculture, Mr. Byrd has over a decade of analytical laboratory experience. His research areas include Industrial Hygiene, Rapid and High-Throughput Detection of Plant Pathogens, Real-Time TeleRobotics, Biological/Chemical Forensics, and Broad Spectrum Water Quality Analyses. Mr. Byrd provides technical and scientific support for product and service development.

Adam C. Powers
Information Technology Manager
Adam Power is an experienced with a strong background in technology and non-profit administration, specializing in technical support. Currently, he is furthering his skills through the Mobile Market 101 Course and the Veggie Van Toolkit. Adam has a successful track record in food distribution, having moved and distributed over 8,000 pounds of food in Washington. In his new role, Adam will be responsible for overseeing inventory systems, app functionality, data analytics, social media, website maintenance, and cybersecurity. He will be instrumental in driving technological innovation and efficiency within our operations, contributing to our overall business growth and success. Additionally, Adam serves as a board member of Shark Garden, an urban garden in Burien, WA, that produces 5,000 pounds of food for the local White Center Food Bank.
Reginald Johnson
Community Engagement Officer
Dedicated to community planning in South Los Angeles, focusing on economic development and social entrepreneurship. He founded the Willowbrook Inclusion Network (WIN) for community development. His work spans various leadership roles, including the VP of the LA County Measure A Citizens Oversight Board. Committed to enhancing community infrastructure and social bonds, Reggie also enriched his community's growth as a certified UC Master Gardener since 2018 and is currently enrolled in the mobile Market 101 Course
WIN has also established itself as a leading community voice in all matters pertaining to community and economic development in unincorporated LA County. Past community outreach and engagement partners for LA County Public Health Department & Department of Parks & Recreations for Pedestrian plans and community assessments. We are now recognized by METRO as a community partner and market manager having been selected to operate the local Adopt-a-Bike program and Micro Entrepreneurship activities at the Rosa Parks METRO Station, encouraging sustainable plaza vending options for the community.

Mariah Dodson is a military veteran with a background in supply and logistics Her company United Herbalism is a project management company specializing in contract management, licensing with government agencies, and supply, and procurement. our organization has assisted in the organizing of collaborative events with government agencies, as well as the Building of infrastructures and collaborative partners in the creation of different economical, and land use policies that impact our community.

By collaborating on the Eco-Friendly Mobile Healthy Food Market project, Calibbean Farm will contribute high-quality produce and provide relevant and culturally-specific knowledge of crop cultivation and harvesting techniques to support the success and sustainability of the market.
